Installation Guide

Step-by-step installation guide for VECTRA Trading Bot.

Download

Step 1: Get the Latest Release

Download the latest version of VECTRA from the official release channel.

⚠️ Warning: Only download VECTRA from official sources. Never trust third-party downloads.

Download Package Contents:

  • VECTRA_Bot.exe - Main application

  • Supporting libraries and modules

  • VECTRA_User_Guide_v924.pdf - Documentation

  • env_template.txt - Configuration template

Installation

Step 2: Extract Files

Windows:

  1. Right-click the downloaded ZIP file

  2. Select "Extract All..."

  3. Choose your installation folder: C:\VECTRA\

  4. Click Extract

Linux / macOS:

Step 3: Verify Installation

Your VECTRA folder should contain:

🚨 Critical: Keep all files together in the same folder. Moving VECTRA_Bot.exe without the _internal folder will cause the application to fail.

First Launch

Step 4: Run VECTRA

Step 5: Initial Configuration

On first launch:

  1. Click the βš™οΈ Settings button (gear icon)

  2. The Settings Panel will open

  3. Configure your credentials

  4. Save and start trading!

Troubleshooting

Windows: "Windows protected your PC"

This is Windows SmartScreen. VECTRA is safe but not signed with a Microsoft certificate.

  1. Click "More info"

  2. Click "Run anyway"

Linux: Permission Denied

macOS: "Cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer"

  1. Open System Preferences β†’ Security & Privacy

  2. Click "Open Anyway" next to the VECTRA message

Missing Libraries Error

Ensure you extracted ALL files from the ZIP, including the _internal folder.

Updating VECTRA

To update to a new version:

  1. Download the new release

  2. Extract to a new folder (don't overwrite)

  3. Copy your .env file from the old installation

  4. Launch the new version

  5. Verify your settings are intact

πŸ’‘ Tip: Your .env file contains your credentials. Copying it preserves your configuration.

Uninstalling

To remove VECTRA:

  1. Stop the bot if running

  2. Delete the VECTRA folder

  3. Optionally remove the .env file if you want to remove credentials
