AI Validation

Overview

ECTRA AI (Enhanced Crypto Trading Reasoning Assistant) is VECTRA's AI layer powered by Anthropic's Claude. Every trade signal generated by the strategy engine is sent to Claude for independent thesis validation before execution.

This is not a simple "AI says buy" system. ECTRA AI receives the complete context of the trade — indicators, regime, confluences, risk parameters, Coinglass data, news sentiment — and provides a reasoned analysis of whether the trade thesis is sound.

How It Works

Strategy generates the signal

The strategy generates a signal with all contextual data.

ECTRA AI constructs the prompt

ECTRA AI constructs a detailed prompt including:

• Current market regime and trend direction

• All confluence indicators and their values

• Coinglass on-chain metrics (OI, Funding, LSR)

• Recent news sentiment (if available)

• Indicator database context for enhanced technical understanding

• Historical performance of similar setups

Claude analyzes and returns a decision

Claude AI analyzes the setup and returns one of:

• APPROVE — Signal is valid, proceed with execution

• ADJUST — Signal has merit but parameters should be modified (e.g., reduce size, adjust SL)

• REJECT — Signal fails the AI's thesis evaluation

News Sentiment Integration

ECTRA AI v2.0 includes real-time news sentiment analysis:

• Fetches recent crypto news headlines

• Classifies sentiment (Bullish / Bearish / Neutral)

• Factors news context into the validation decision

• Alerts on high-impact news that might affect open positions

Learning System

ECTRA AI tracks trade outcomes and adjusts its validation approach:

• Records which signal patterns it approved that were profitable

• Records which signals it rejected that would have been profitable

• Over time, refines its filtering to maximize realized profit factor

API Key Requirement

ECTRA AI requires a user-provided Claude AI API key from https://console.anthropic.com. The AI costs are borne by the user based on their own usage. Typical usage is 20-100 API calls per day depending on signal frequency.

ECTRA AI Chat

ELITE and above tiers also get access to the ECTRA AI Chat — an interactive AI trading assistant built into the VECTRA GUI. Features include:

• Ask about current market conditions

• Request analysis of specific trading pairs

• Get strategy recommendations based on current regime

• Create custom strategies through conversation

• Review trade performance and get improvement suggestions
